Lançado CentOS 6.5 - Atualização do CentOS 6.x para CentOS 6.5
Em 1º de dezembro de 2013, a equipe do projeto CentOS anunciou o lançamento do CentOS 6.5 Enterprise Linux para i386 e x86_64 arquitetura do sistema. Esta versão foi a quinta atualização da série CentOS 6.x e vem com muitos novos recursos, novas funcionalidades e muitas correções de bugs.
CentOS 6.5 é um sistema operacional Linux de código aberto conduzido pela comunidade e puramente baseado na versão upstream do Red Hat Enterprise Linux (EL) 6.5 . Esta nova versão envolve pacotes de software de todas as variantes, incluindo Servidor e Cliente.
Esta versão inclui muitos recursos e mudanças essenciais em comparação com a versão anterior do CentOS e eu sugiro fortemente que todos vocês leiam as notas de versão sobre as mudanças.

• The Precision Time Protocol – before a technology preview – is now fully supported. Enabled support for network time stamping: bnx2x, tg3, e1000e, igb, ixgbe, and sfc;
• OpenSSL has been updated to version 1.0.1;
• OpenSSL and NSS now support TLS 1.1 and 1.2;
• A number of renovation have been implemented for KVM, which combine read-only support of VMDK- and VHDX-Files, CPU hot plugging, and updated virt-v2v-/virt-p2v-conversion tools;
• The Hyper-V and VMware drivers have been updated;
• Evolution has been updated to version 2.32 and LibreOffice to version 4.0.4;

Atualizando do CentOS 6.x para o CentOS 6.5
Você pode atualizar facilmente de qualquer versão anterior do CentOS 6.1, 6.2, 6.3 e 6.4 para o CentOS 6.5 usando o comando “yum update” do comando- linha. Antes de atualizar, verifique a versão existente, se estiver executando alguma.

CentOS release 6.4 (Final)O processo de atualização é muito mais fácil e direto, tudo que você precisa fazer é simplesmente executar o comando “yum update”. Mas antes de partir para a atualização, sugiro que todos façam backup de arquivos, bancos de dados, arquivos de configuração importantes, etc.
Em seguida, execute o comando ‘yum list updates’ para listar toda a lista de atualizações disponíveis. A lista de atualização dá uma ideia melhor sobre quais pacotes serão atualizados.
